James Bass is an Advanced Digital Forensics Expert, boasting over 24 years of experience in the field. James specializes in Cell Phone/ Mobile Device Forensics, eDiscovery, Computer Forensics, Black Box Forensics, Electronic Medical Records Forensics, Cybersecurity and more.
James embarked on his journey in digital forensics with certification from the Department of Defense Cyber Crimes Training Center as a Digital Forensic Analyst in 2010. Swiftly gaining recognition as a leading expert in the field, he assumed examiner roles across the United States, Europe, and various combat zones, analyzing devices crucial to criminal and counter-terrorism investigations. After retiring from the U.S. Army, James was recruited by several Federal law enforcement agencies to perform complex forensic examinations and data analysis.
Most recently, James has been a contract computer forensic analyst for the Federal Government, where he managed a digital forensics program that worked seamlessly with Prosecutors, Defenders, and multiple Federal law enforcement agencies. During his tenure, James conducted examinations of 2,740 pieces of digital evidence, resulting in the identification of 63 previously unknown child sexual assault victims and 27 child sex offenders. He is now a Digital Forensic Analyst and Expert Witness with Evidence Solutions, Inc., assisting attorneys and clients with meticulous forensic examinations and analysis in both state and federal courts.

Case Examples
- Conducted investigations into difficult, complex, technical, and sensitive matters involving computer and computerized evidence which may be national in scope. These investigations included complex networking and communications problems and legal issues, which required law enforcement and civilian cooperation nationwide.
- Conducted forensic examinations of digital evidence collected on the battlefield in two theaters of combat operation in support of the Global War Against terrorism.
- Conducted highly specialized visual and/or computer based examinations of computers, related peripheral equipment and other automation/data storage devices; such as cell-phones, personal data assistants; as well as various forms of computer media. 100% accountability and sound forensic processing of physical and automated information evidence submitted for examination from supported USACIDC offices, state and local law enforcement jurisdictions as well as the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (SOVA ICAC).
